Anti-Bullying Week...
Taking the initiative, the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and Mental Health Committee spoke to the whole school in Assembly, and explained that bullying is not welcome at King’s. Luke (Head Boy) explained that the theme this year is ‘Reaching Out’. We are encouraging pupils not to be bystanders, to speak up and not ignore unkindness and watch people struggle on their own. Rafe explained that King’s is a caring, friendly, and safe environment for all pupils so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. Hugo defined the different types of bullying, so pupils can recognise it if and when it happens - physical, verbal, emotional, sexual and online. Charlie told pupils where to seek support and what to say to the bully. Jemima finished by saying that we are all unique and celebrating our differences is so important. Her message was that it’s OK to be ourselves.
Alison Grant - Deputy Head
Rafe - "We are committed to providing a caring, friendly, and safe environment for all pupils so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. Bullying of any kind is completely unacceptable at our school."
Jemima - "We are a TELLING school. This means that anyone who knows that bullying is happening is encouraged to tell their Houseparent, a trusted member of staff, or the School Prefects."
