Sophie and Olivia H are coming to the end of their time at King’s Bruton and they have continued their outstanding hockey success over the Easter break.
Sophie has been away in Monchengladbach in Germany with the Great Britain Elite Development Programme, having been selected for this squad following her successes with the England U18 team. Equally, Olivia was in Holland over the Easter weekend with the England U18 team for a series of test matches. What makes their achievements even more impressive and special is that they are twin sisters who are playing junior international hockey to such a fantastic level.
Having attended Hazlegrove Prep School, both girls came up to King’s Bruton where their hockey journey continued to grow, both for school but also on the international stage. Both Sophie and Olivia have represented King’s Bruton in five National Indoor Finals at both U16 and U18 level, which is amazingly every year they have been at the school. Both girls have represented the King’s Bruton 1st XI for the past four years and during their time at the school they have gained selection for both the England U16 and U18 squads. Consequently, Sophie and Olivia have helped to increase the profile of hockey at King’s Bruton and they both have an incredibly bright future within the sport.
Henry Eriksson, who is Director of Hockey at King’s Bruton says, “I am incredibly proud of both Sophie and Olivia and their hockey achievements to date and it is huge testament to their commitment, dedication and ability. I wish them both the very best of luck in their future hockey careers and everyone at King’s Bruton will look forward to following their progress in the years to come.”
