On Saturday afternoon the annual boys’ inter-house hockey was contested in gale force conditions.
The senior competition saw some very competitive matches being played with the winner being decided in the final game of the afternoon. All of the houses played the tournament in the right way and despite being competitive, the boys showed excellent spirit throughout. The deserved winners in the end were Blackford, having won two matches and drawn one, followed by New House who came second on goal difference ahead of Old House and with the wooden spoon going to Lyon.
The junior competition was also played in a friendly, yet competitive manner with the tournament also being decided in the final game between Lyon and Blackford. However, it was Blackford who triumphed to secure an impressive double with the seniors also having won. Old House finished in third, whilst New House ended up finishing in fourth position. I would like to thank all of the boys who took part for enduring the terrible conditions to play in a competitive, yet enjoyable afternoon of hockey.
My thanks also goes to the staff who assisted and the boys’ teams all look forward to finishing the season on a high as they face Prior Park on Saturday.
