CCF 4th Form Exercise "Skirmish 1"...
King’s Bruton CCF 4th Form Army Recruits undertook their first military exercise at the end of the summer term on the school grounds. “Exercise Skirmish” was designed to combine all the skills they had learnt during the year and in preparation for the two-day Exercise at Yoxter Ranges in September. Cadets performed their Fieldcraft skills to a high level, with patrolling, setting up a Patrol Base, cooking in the field and then patrolling out to undertake a section attack against the enemy positions. The cadets showed great enthusiasm and skills and most impressive were the four section leaders.
An Advanced Infantry of 30 cadets for next term is very encouraging, and 2023-24 looks very exciting and challenging for this group of cadets.
