June is Pride month, and King’s is celebrating this through positive communications.
A few pupils in the 6th Form, decided to set the tone in Assembly, and highlight Pride Month to the School. It was explained that it is not only a celebration, but a time to be confident, and a time to educate. The pupils explained that there was support at King’s for all pupils in the LGBTQ+ community and they touched on the importance of inclusion. In this way, everyone can feel safe and have a sense of belonging.
Posters have been displayed across the School, and staff have put up subject specific portraits of famous pioneers who also happened to be LGBTQ+. Staff are also being trained on this topic, and we look forward to Bob coming to discuss LGBT issues from 2BU next term.
