Last weekend saw the final Ten Tors training expedition before the actual event, which is on 6th to 8th May...
The pupils excelled in this last practice, working well as a team and navigating with confidence and precision across Dartmoor. Their fitness has improved greatly and they now feel ready for the demanding challenges that lay ahead of them. A majority of pupils, and indeed staff, hobbled off the moor on Sunday as their tired legs and blistered feet began to take its toll.
In order for the teams to complete the challenge well, their organisation and teamwork needs to be immaculate and they will have to dig deep over the course of the event. The teams have two weeks to ready themselves for what will be their greatest challenge of their young lives so far. Good luck to all those involved, we will be rooting you on from the side lines, wishing you all the success that you deserve.
Thanks must go to all the staff involved with the incredible training programme that we provide, and for giving these pupils the opportunity to partake in this marvellous event.
If you are interested in monitoring the progress of King’s Bruton, then please head to Ten Tors where you can find out lots more about the event and follow the teams’ progress. The start is at 7am on Saturday 7th May. There will also be regular updates via the King’s CCF twitter page @KSBCCF.
