The School has felt more ‘nearer to normal’, at the start of this term, than probably at any time in the past 12 months.
I am very conscious that a handful of overseas pupils, who have been unable to travel, continue to rely on remote education and we still have pupils in quarantine, but most of the pupils are now back with us in school. I am grateful to the King’s and Mill on the Brue staff who ensured that all the quarantine provision and testing went smoothly before term started.
The weather has been glorious, our cricket and tennis players have enjoyed pre-season, and all exam year pupils and teachers are coming to terms with what will be required for external exam assessments. I know that all pupils will be supported by their teachers and our excellent Heads of Department to ensure that they achieve the grades they deserve.
We still have to observe COVID-safety measures, and it will be strange to have no external exams this term, but it is reassuring that for the first time for many months, we are looking forward to a full term with excitement and confidence. Floreat Brutonia
