On Tuesday 30th January, twenty-six U6th Form Business Studies and Economics pupils visited the Wyke Farm and Wyke Sustainable Energy Centre.
The pupils learned about the range of cheeses that Wyke produce and about the history of the Clothier dynasty. They were astonished to learn that all the waste was recycled to provide energy to run the farm. Later on the pupils were treated to a tour round the smellier areas of the plant! The trip provided the pupils with an opportunity to witness a production facility in operation and better understand the sheer cost of setting up a sustainable energy plant. The trip finished with a trip to the Wyke Farm Shop - a superb end! Our thanks go to Christie for the informative tour.
