Chemistry Educational Trips

On Monday 30th January the 6th Form Chemists attended a second Chemistry Symposium, along with five other local schools, hosted by Sherborne Girls' School.

Presentations were delivered on the oxygen paradox, smart materials, super heavy elements, Vantablack, the use of urea in car exhausts and cryogenics. Alistair Sanford (shown far right in the above photo), who hopes to read Physics at University, eloquently talked about 'The Physics Behind Chemistry'. Well done Alistair! We are looking forward to attending the next Chemistry Symposium (at Sherborne Girls' School on the 6th March) and hearing Samantha Walker deliver her presentation.
