On Tuesday, a small group of Art as well as Design Technology pupils visited Amalgam Model Makers in Bristol.

We were treated to a tour of the company where we met the model makers and understood the processes and materials that they use in order to create their work. The work varied enormously and it highlighted just how diverse the models were ranging from architectural models to those used in film sets or advertising. It was a real eye opener for the pupils allowing them to experience professionals working in a creative industry. I think that it is fair to say we all left slightly spellbound at how creative and practical these people were and we were inspired by their work. We hope to make this a yearly trip as they have invited us back.
