On Wednesday the Chapel Choir travelled to Winchester Cathedral to sing a service of Choral Evensong.

The choir were on top form – music for the service included: Richard Shepherd Preces and Responses, the Canticles were Stanford’s setting in G major and the anthem was Balfour-Gardiner’s Evening Hymn. Imogen Moore sang the soprano solo in the Magnificat and Alex Hutton performed the baritone solo in the Nunc Dimittis and they both did superbly well. The voices in the choir blended well and the acoustic was very rewarding to sing in. The singing of the psalm was particularly impressive with careful attention to dynamics and diction. The Cathedral Dean and Precentor were most impressed with our singing and have invited us back to sing again.
