Sixth Form Celebration

Spotting a gap in the calendar, we turned it into an opportunity to educate our Sixth Form in the etiquette of a formal dinner.

The Upper Sixth invited the Lower Sixth as their guests to welcome them into the exciting life of our oldest years at King's. It took the format of a formal dinner with a seating plan, elegant tables and very well educated waitering staff which included the Headmaster and the Senior Management Team together with most of the Sixth Form Tutors. A beautiful three course dinner was served which included a fish starter and chicken main course. Jack Hudson made a toast to the Queen to start off the evening and Mr Will Dawe finished the evening with a speech about cherishing our childhood as we look forward to adulthood. He told tales of embarrassing moments in the childhood of some of those present, much to the delight of the audience. A wonderful magician worked the tables as each student ensured they gave equal attention to the person sitting on their right and left. All the boys are now able to fold their bow ties and all the students will be undaunted when they receive invitations in the future.

Mrs Archer, a Sixth Form tutor in Old House, worked tirelessly to ensure the Memorial Hall looked exquisite and she adorned the tables full of Autumn colours. She masterminded the event which will now become part of the King's calendar.
