Fourteen of our U6th Form Geography pupils had an enthralling time listening to Professor Iain Stewart speak at Millfield School.

Professor Stewart is best known for presenting a number of science programmes on the BBC, including the BAFTA nominated Earth: The Power of the Planet. Professor Stewart spoke about the interactions between physical and human Geography. He caught all the pupils' interests when speaking about his time travelling to various places that have been affected by natural hazards and how society deals with daily threats that these hazards pose. Professor Stewart also spoke about the best ways to communicate the science behind natural hazards to those who are affected by it. After the presentation our pupils stayed behind to talk to Professor Stewart and asked him insightful and thought provoking questions. It was a brilliant evening and certainly provided some topics for conversation on the minibus back to school.
