Wellesley House was the first Girls’ house and we have a special team spirit that is evident everywhere.
The House has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where everyone looks after one another; the older girls acting as ‘big sister’ to the younger girls with time, encouragement and words of advice.
Wellesley girls always give time and commitment to all they do and they are encouraged to reach their full potential academically, musically, artistically or on the sports field. The House opened in 1987 with just eight 6th Form girls and now we have more than five times as many girls aged between 13 – 18, who over the years have gone to Oxbridge, reached Grade VIII with distinction in music and represented their County, and Country in sport.
My connection with Wellesley House spans 12 years when my husband Mark and I visited with our daughter, Milly. She went on to spend two very happy years in the House at 6th Form where she thrived and she has now returned as Resident Tutor. Since arriving at Wellesley House six years ago, my aim has always been to ensure the girls feel happy, safe and secure and with these essential needs in place, I believe they will thrive and develop.
The girls and I would love to show you what we believe to be a very special House - do keep up to date with everything by following Twitter feed below.
